The following questions refer to the latest version of BannedStory.
- What is BannedStory?BannedStory is a program used to dress a cartoon-like character from the online game MapleStory. You can make a character with the clothes featured in the game. Besides the character, you can also make the pets with their corresponding clothes, as well as most of the special effects from the game (known as “skills”).
- Is BannedStory a game?No, BannedStory is not a game, neither a replacement for MapleStory.
- Is BannedStory a private server?No, BannedStory is a program made in Flash CS3 that can only simulate the character, pet, skill or monster from MapleStory.
- It is safe to use BannedStory?All content that you can download from this site is free from malware or spyware. But its still recommend that you scan everything that you may download.
BannedStory does not install anything that may modify your computer. - Why BannedStory has so many files?BannedStory uses almost all the images from the items that exist in MapleStory. Currently, there are about 5,000+ items in use.
- Can I still use the old BannedStory with the new one?BannedStory 3.0 now supports items from either BannedStory 1.x and 2.x.
- How do I save what I had made in BannedStory?At the top menu, there's an option to save images named "Save Image...". You can save either a PNG or JPG image.
You can also generate a special code, which is just an XML string, that you can use re-load your build. - I can't see some parts of BannedStory Online?You will need to run BannedStory at full screen. At the top menu bar of BannedStory, select View -> Full Screen.
- How can I put maps in BannedStory?First, you need to get your maps from somewhere else. BannedStory does not have any map images. After you have the images, load them inside BannedStory using the load picture option.
- How do I make an animation in BannedStory?BannedStory does not make animations. To make an animation using BannedStory, you need to make a sequence of images, then load all those images in your prefered video animation software.
- How do I load a picture in BannedStory?Using the load picture option, under the Layer Manager window.
- When I run BannedStory in my computer, it says "Data could not be found" or "Thumbnails could not be found.", what's that?Those messages appear if BannedStory was unable to find either the thumbnails or the data. Check that you have the folders "dat" and "thumbs" in the root folder of BannedStory. Also check that you have all the required files in those folders.
- When I write my build code in BannedStory and press OK, nothing happens. Why?If the code is not well written, it is ignored. Also, items in the code that are incorrect or have missing words are ignored.
