MapleSim - Home of BannedStory

Save Image Window

The Save Image window can be located in the menu bar, in File -> Save Image. From here you can save the image you have made in BannedStory.

Save Window

You can select to save either the whole scene, or a specific layer from the layer manager. By pressing the "Make Preview" button at the top, you can generate a preview of the current element you want to save.

You can also choose to save you image either in PNG or JPG format. If you choose PNG, you can either save the image with transparency, or you can choose any of the featured three colors at the bottom. If you pick for background color "Nearest Color Layer", the background color of the image will be the nearest color layer below the selected layer, or white if no color layer exists below the selected layer.

Cropping Images

Crop ImageWhen you enable the crop image function, four red lines will appear in the preview area. You can drag any of these four lines to make the boundaries of the cropped image. After dragging the lines, you can press again the "Make Preview" button to see how you image will look with the crop applied.

Adobe JSX Code Window

BannedStory can also generage an special Javascript code that can be read by Photoshop. With this code, you can build your character inside Photoshop. The loaded image in Photoshop will have the same alignments as in BannedStory, and they will be grouped in folders representing the layers from BannedStory.

JSX Window

You can build your JSX code from the first 5 layers, or a specific layer. When you press the Save button, you will be prompted to download a zip file. This zip file will have the jsx code (a regular text file) and all the images needed to load your image inside Photoshop.

Sprite Sheet Window

With the sprite sheet window, you can create a PNG image for each state of the animation. The generated image will include all the frames of each state. All you need to do is choose the layer to generate the sprite sheets, and BannedStory will automatically make all the images. After it finishes, you will be prompted to download a zip file that will have all the images.

Important: if a sprite sheet turns out to have a width or a height bigger than 2880 pixels, it will be ignored and not added in the generated zip (this is a limitation of the Flash Player). Also, if a zip file gets larger than 600 KB, the zip creation process will halt and you will not be prompted to download the zip (some skills and monsters could get affected by this).
